Standing on the shoulders of Rumblebuffin.

I wonder if Philip Pullman, who wrote the His Dark Materials series of books as the direct rebuttal of C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, is enjoying seeing the recent film adaptation advertised everywhere as "IN THE TRADITION OF NARNIA"... :)

  2. AWESOME! WHERE CAN I BUY TICKETS? I COULDN'T FIND THE TORRENT ONLINE.

Actually, that reminded me of that other little coattail trick advertisers love that I remember seeing employed most egregiously in an ad for the Lost in Space movie from 1998:

"IF YOU LOVED STAR WARS, YOU'LL LOVE LOST IN SPACE!"

Glory, they couldn't have been more wrong. Maybe if they'd used the line after the Prequels had been released, there would have been some truth to it, but that's it. They'll say anything to get you to the ticket booth, and I fell for it that time, but I did my best negative word-of-mouth campaigning afterwards out of sheer spite. :)

  3. Actually, ha, ha, I just noticed on the Lost in Space page on the IMDB that it says:

Plot Synopsis: This plot synopsis is empty. Add a synopsis.

    Ha, ha. So true. :)
